Hollywood on the silver screen
Throughout the month of January, film buffs can get their fill of great Hollywood classics. Select favorites from two film festivals are now playing at the Cinémathèque Française, Paris.
The Hollywood Décadent festival features such films as Joseph Mankiewicz’s “Cleopatra” with Elizabeth Taylor, “Valley of the Dolls“, and Vincente Minnelli’s “Nina“. Or, watch the genius of one of America’s incomparable American directors in the Frank Capra Retrospective. His famous films include: “It Happened One Night“, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington“.

Student art in the métro
The French Ecole des Arts Décoratifs celebrates its 250th anniversary this month in the Paris Subway system.The métro provides the backdrop for 250 artworks, which were created in a special workshop by its students and graduates. Buy one ticket and visit the different métro stations showcasing the diverse French talent of this prestigious fine arts school.
