Whether you have a taste for late-night museum visits, tantalizing gastronomy, neighborhood parties or fashion exclusives, there’s something on the menu for you this week!

A Night at the Museum

With more than 30 European countries, 3,000 European museums, and two million people participating in last year’s event, the Nuit Europeenne des Musées is more popular than ever. This year, over 66 museums in the Paris area will open their doors late into the night, with special exhibits, screenings, concerts, performances, and activities designed for the whole family to enjoy. Highlights include a Spanish-themed concert to accompany the Balenciaga exhibit at the Musée Bourdelle, and a treasure hunt at the Musée de l’Homme, based around their exhibit “Us and Them – From Prejudice to Racism.” Visit the interactive WEBSITE to find the museum closest to you and plan out your itinerary to make the most of an art-filled evening before the sun comes up.

Foodie Paradise

Paris has so many amazing restaurants and master chefs, it would be impossible to try them all. But you can come close at Taste of Paris, a four-day festival celebrating the best of Paris gastronomy. Sample bite-size portions of signature dishes from world-renowned chefs such as Guy Savoy and Thierry Marx, and meet the artisans behind Paris’ most famous eateries. Amateur chefs of all ages can take their skills to the next level by watching live cooking demonstrations and attending master classes with the stars of tomorrow. Most of all, eat, drink and be merry under the stunning glass cupola of the Grand Palais. Paris never tasted so good!

When: May 18 – 21, 2017; Daytime session: 11am-4pm, Evening Session 7pm-Midnight
Where: Grand Palais, 3 avenue du Général Eisenhower, 75008 Paris

Neighborhood Fun

Paris is brimming with festive spirit, no matter what arrondissement you live in. This weekend, both the Marais and the area around the Canal St. Martin are hosting family-friendly events filled with music, theater, dance and more. The O4vents festivalspecifically geared to young audiences, takes place in some of the 4th arrondissment’s most notable landmarks, like the Hôtel de Beauvais and the Halle des Blanc Manteaux. Kids will love the bilingual electropop stylings of Dana & the Petits Punks, the contemporary clowning of the Company Désordinaire, and many other playful performances.

Over in the 10th arrondissement, the 20th edition of the Printemps des Rues celebrates the tradition of street art in all its forms, with acrobatics, graffiti art, games, theater, music and dance invading public spaces and inviting spectators to join in the fun. And to kick off the weekend, don’t forget the annual Fête des Voisins on Friday night, an opportunity to share a drink or a meal with the neighbors you cross every day but rarely get a chance to know. Check out their helpful WEBSITE for tips on how to organize a get-together in your neck of the woods.
