This week’s activities are designed to get you and the whole family out and about. Discover children’s theater, garden fairs, or join the annual Paris street carnival!

Theater festival for the whole family

Gennevilliers, just north of Paris, is playing host to 10 days of fun for even the littlest spectator. Children as young as 18 months can enjoy theater, puppetry, storytelling and plenty of music and even tap dance. The creative program also includes workshops, exhibits and meetings with the performers themselves. It’s the perfect way for the whole family to discover the delights of the stage.

Whiff of Spring for Garden Lovers

Do you love orchids? Don’t miss the last two days of the “1001 Orchids” on display in the Jardin des Plantes’ main tropical greenhouses. Discover unique and rare orchids in the heart of Paris. An exhibit of photography featuring orchids from around the world underscores the variety and complexity of this unusual plant.

Paris Street Party

The Carnival de Paris is coming to town for its 20th edition to kick off the traditional Mardi Gras celebrations. Join the fun in costume – the theme this year is “the dance of fruits and vegetables around the world” – or just follow along with the cortège. The parade, featuring music, street performers, floats and more starts at the Place de Gambetta at 2 pm, ending at the Place de la République around 5pm, although the party is expected to go on into the night!
