In April, Paris celebrates the return of Spring with photography, comic book art, rare manuscripts, and fun athletic activities.
April is Photography Month
Established in 1980 by visionaries Henry Chapier and Jean-luc Monterosso, Le Mois de la Photo has grown in popularity like no other art event in recent memory. This enthusiasm has encouraged the city of Paris to dedicate more and more spaces to the art of photography.
For the latest edition (moved from November to April to include new venues), the festival has expanded the walls of Paris to include the surrounding suburbs. Almost a hundred exhibits are presenting works covering four themes: portraits, street, landscapes, and photography as material. Also new this year, three “Intense Weekends” of self-guided walking tours where you can explore the exhibits by neighborhood and meet the photographers and the exhibitors.
