Tara Jamali studied at the University of Paris and today works at Boston Globe Media. She pursues choral singing, salsa dancing, theater, and photography in her free time. Call her a hippie at heart. Driven by wanderlust, she enjoys writing about travel, gender, cross-cultural issues, and the arts. An Iranian American, she is fluent in English and Farsi and speaks Italian (and some French!) She holds the popular verse from female poet Forugh Farrokhzad dear to her heart: “Remember the flight, for the bird is mortal”.
