Here’s a place where you can let your kids run wild, jump and climb to their hearts’ content without attracting nasty glares from people around you. Acrochats runs two indoor adventure playgrounds just outside of Paris (Thiais and Plaisir), with climbing frames, ball pits and obstacles for kids up to 12 years old. You can also privatize their themed cabins for a birthday party and sit back and relax with a book in their café complete with wifi.

Specialist children’s hairdressers with TVs at each seat, a playroom for waiting, and a small toy when finished. They’ve been a fixture in the 17th near Parc Monceau for 15 years and are now in the 7th and 9th arrondissements .  Also, the owner recently designed her own children’s clothing line which is available for purchase in the salons.

You never have to feel alone or do it alone. AAWE is one of the longest running non-profit volunteer associations of (mostly) American women based long-term in France. Their varied social activities include: US-themed children’s parties, book groups, cultural outings, community fundraisers and much more.

Apart from its community gatherings, the association works diligently to remain the recognized leading resource for bilingual and international educational information in France. Their publications include: “Beyond the Bac: Higher Education in France and Abroad” and “Guide to Education in France, 8th Edition.” These are must have guides for international families living here with children in school.

A non-profit association founded over 50 years ago by UNESCO and the Education Nationale, SIS, Sections Internationales de Sèvres, operates within several French public school campuses in Sèvres, Chaville and Boulogne-Billancourt, on the western edge of Paris. SIS offers bilingual English/French and German/French education from nursery school through high school. An entrance exam is required to evaluate the child’s language level. 

In addition to preparing students for the Option Internationale du Baccalaureat (OIB), the international option of the French baccalaureate program, SIS offers post-bac counseling for applying to universities outside of France and organizes many extra-curricular activities, including a lively theater group, active book club and school trips abroad. Due to the school’s reputation and popularity, early enrollment is recommended.

For over 50 years, Cours Legendre has provided tutoring services, including individual lessons in your home or group lessons at their centers in all major cities around France.

Your first contact is with a dedicated pedagogic counselor who will help determine your child’s needs (based on information you provide) and recommend the best tutor to fit those needs. If the first tutor doesn’t work out, you can ask to change tutors until you find the right one to work with your child. They also check in with you regularly to see if you’re satisfied with the services.

As with all of the professional tutoring companies, 50% of the fees are tax deductible!
