Adults and kids from 7 to 12 years old can learn how to cook the French way at Cook’n with Class. Classes range from market cooking to foie gras and wine and cheese pairing, to classic French desserts. The icing on the cake? Cook n’ with Class is one of the few schools in Paris that offer cooking classes in English. They’ll even organize private family classes in the kitchen with a translator in Spanish, French, Italian or Chinese!

Metro: Les Sablons (line 1)
One of INSPIRELLE’s favorite family destinations, this is a 20-hectare (49-acre) children’s amusement park located in the northern corner of the Bois de Boulogne. The under 12 crowd will love the carnival type games, climbing wall, puppet shows, petting zoo, donkey and camel rides and sprinklers in the summer!
Their Maison des Ateliers offers workshops through the year and a party package for 350€, which includes an interactive workshop for 10 kids, birthday cake, drinks, candies and goody bags. All parents need to do is show up and take photos! But it’s very popular, so make sure to reserve at least one month in advance.
Metro: Pasteur (lines 6 and 12)
Created and run by American opera singer Valerie Beatson, Kid Jam offers an introduction to singing for babies and children in a fun and bilingual (French/English) environment. Children and their accompanying adults learn international songs, lullabies and finger-plays while expressing themselves with percussive instruments, props and musical games.
En plus, KidJam’s classes are open to all children, even those with special-needs. New classes like BodyJam, taught by movement specialist Corinne Ott, allow these kids to get their much-needed social activities and integrated therapy. And with the help of Association SPRINT France, psychologists volunteer to come shadow (aid, in France, they are called AVS (Auxiliaire Vie Scolaire) these kids in music and movement classes, for an optimum experience.

Metro: Porte de la Villette (line 7)
Inside this modern Museum of Science and Industry you’ll find permanent exhibitions on the universe, mathematics, transportation and more, plus regularly rotating temporary exhibitions. Inside this big sister to the Palais de la Découverte, families will also love the fabulous Cité des Enfants, a totally hands-on science adventure playground with hands-on exhibits including a water zone, mock recording studio, construction zone and much more. There are two distinct areas, for 2-7 year olds and 5-12 year olds, so parents with kids in two different age groups better bring another adult! Reservations highly recommended.
Love science? Get an annual Universcience pass to visit both the Palais de la Découverte and Cité throughout the year.
Metro: Alma Marceau (line 9)
The Nicolaïte de Chaillot is a cultural and sports association which offers after-school activities such as football, gymnastics, judo, kung fu, tai chi and tennis, as well as camps during the school holidays. They also organize artistic, educational and sports activities and outings for kids from 6 to 17 years on Wednesdays and weekdays after-school at their Centre de Loisirs. Activities are led in French.

Metro: Wagram (line 3)
The Salésienne is a French cultural and sports association for children and adults in Paris, offering a wide range of activities for adults and children throughout the year, including performing arts (dance, singing, theater) and sports (basketball, football, pilates, tennis, yoga and more). They also run popular camps during the school holidays. Consult their website for details and enrollment.
A wonderful family activity just outside of Paris! You can pick your own fresh fruits and vegetables, visit the farm animals, and shop in the country store for homemade products. Think apples and pumpkins in the fall and strawberries and raspberries in the summer! They offer regular workshops and presentations for the whole family.
Metro: Vaugirard or Convention (line 12)
Everyone in the culinary world has heard of the Cordon Bleu cooking school for professional chefs. Here, kids from 8 to 12 can also learn to develop their culinary skills in fun workshops (translated into English), or organize a birthday party to share the fun with their friends.

A team of “mad scientists”, who make learning about science fun, are at your service to put on a fun and engaging, interactive show at your event or children’s party. Choose from various age-appropriate themes, and they’ll come prepared to entertain the kids with fun scientific experiments. You just provide the laboratory and the cake. Also offering made-to-measure workshops on numerous science topics in schools and at various Savants Fous locations around France. They also organize daily and weekly workshops during school holidays.

Learn French cuisine in a cooking workshop, Les Secrets Gourmands de Noémie. Noémie Fournier has been passionate about food ever since her grandparents invited her to her first gourmet restaurant at the impressionable age of 12. After graduating from the reputable Lenôtre Cooking School in Paris, Noémie opened up her kitchen, where she offers French pastry classes and cooking workshops in English, and visits to a quintessential French market to learn how to select the best seasonal produce. Classes and workshops are available to both novices and connoisseurs, and perfect to do in groups of two or more!
Metros: Riquet (line 7) and Stalingrad (lines 2, 5, 7)
The unique and vibrant Centquatre (104) Paris, a multi-purpose hub of arts and culture (including cinema, culinary, dance, music, theatre, video, digital and urban art) whose Maison des Petits is a modern space dedicated to little ones up to 5 and their parents. You can sign up for FREE artistic activities en famille on Wednesday afternoons, as well as a variety of artistic workshops for kids 6 to 12 during school holidays.
Metro: Pyramides, Opéra, Tuileries
Singaporean actress and mother Charlotte Chiew founded Little Tykes Theatre in 2007 as an answer to a need for quality and fun workshops and parent-child classes for the under 3-year-olds in Paris. She and her team lead holiday camps (for 2 to 8-year olds) and weekly workshops (for little ones 3 months to 3 years) which use games to present simplified forms of professional mime and actor training to children.

The Maison de la Pêche et de la Nature is a buzzing centre of nature-based activity. They have a museum/aquarium, a nursery, a Nature and Biodiversity Centre, and a Fishing School for kids and adults from 7 and up. Be sure to check out their year-round schedule of weekly fishing courses, nature discovery workshops (ateliers) and holiday camps (stages). You can also organize fishing or nature-themed children’s birthday parties here for kids 4 and up!

Stop by the Musée de la Magie for a tour from a wizard or one of the museum’s favorite magic shows. Located in the Marais, this quirky museum is full of amazing artifacts illustrating the history and magic of the art of illusion. Examine antique magicians’ props and gadgets, learn about stunning optical illusions and how to stump your friends with a slight of hand.

A wonderful little museum exhibiting over 2,400 inventions, from scientific instruments to energy to communication and transportation. Guided tours and numerous demonstrations and workshops are organized regularly throughout the year.
Metro: Champs Elysées Clemenceau (line 1 and 13)
A hands-on science museum housed in the magnificent Grand Palais in the heart of Paris. Includes a planetarium, permanent and temporary exhibits and regular demonstrations and workshops. It’s also a sister museum to the Cité des Sciences, so you can get an annual Universcience pass to visit both museums through the year.
Metro: Dupleix (line 6)
A friendly, bilingual and international “edutainment” center which offers a variety of activities for kids from 3 to 10 and parents in English and French, including: after school and Wednesday activities, holiday camps, art and music, baby gym and kids yoga (pre and post natal yoga for moms), theatre classes. If you live in the area, you can also arrange for one of their animateurs to pick up your child from school and supervise homework at the center.
