Here’s a unique place where kids and adults can learn more about their local aquatic and natural environment, located on the outskirts of Paris, on the Ile de la Jatte in the Seine. Built and maintained by the City of Levallois, the Maison de la Pêche et de la Nature is a buzzing centre of nature-based activity. They have a museum/aquarium where you can learn about the fish and biodiversity of the Seine, with a small pool where kids can pet and feed carp and sturgeon fish. There’s also a nursery where you can observe dragonflies, plankton and freshwater shrimp and a 360 degree Aquarama of the Seine which houses 18 aquariums. Their Nature and Biodiversity Centre regularly hosts individuals and school groups who come to learn all about the local flora and fauna, the birds and animals of the Seine region. And, there’s even a Fishing School for kids and adults from 7 and up.
