History of Champagne – Online Video Chat
April 3, 2020 @ 9:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Champagne is nicknamed the “King of Wines and the Wine of Kings”. To understand how Champagne gained this reputation, we must go back to its roots and retrace its history.
Join Cynthia from Delectabulles on a rollercoaster ride through the history of champagne from the selfish Romans in the 3rd century to the industrious monks in the Middle Ages, then to the elaborate feasts at Versailles during the 18th century, the exciting innovations during industrialisation in the 19th century, the depths of despair and destruction during the infestation of Phylloxera, WWI, Prohibition and WWII, then up again during postwar exuberance. Along the way you will learn some fun facts about Champagne. She will, of course, underline the role of women during your journey. If there is time left, participants can chat about the obsession some rappers have with champagne today.
To keep the chat cosy, and to make sure participants get to know each other and get all the attention they deserve, the chats are limited to 12 women.
You can join one of the many group sessions already scheduled here: https://www.
You don’t have to pop open a bottle of champagne to benefit from the chat, but if you do decide to pour yourself a glass of bubbly during our session, you will receive a list of optional of foods you could try with your champagne upon registration.
Cost: 15€ (INSPIRELLE members get a 10% OFF this and other classes with discount code)
