It’s Christmas time, and Paris is magical! During the holiday season, the City of Light shines even brighter than ever, with dazzling illuminations and a festive ambiance all around town. We invited our friend Krystal Kenney, an American photographer, author and podcaster based here, to share the wonders of Paris with you through her beautiful photographs.

Towering Christmas trees are decked out in style all over Paris, brightening up the often gray, wintery days. Some, like the exquisitely decorated Grand Sapin at Galeries Lafayette’s flagship Boulevard Haussmann store, have become iconic must-sees for locals and visitors alike.
Chic Parisian boutiques and department stores pull out all the stops with extravagant window displays and decorations to seduce visitors.
Seasonal Christmas markets (marchés de Noël), with their charming wooden chalets, pop up around different arrondissements, showcasing an array of handicrafts and French delicacies, from raclette and different types of saucisson to roasted chestnuts (marrons). Enjoy your favorite snack with a cup of chocolat chaud or vin chaud as you stroll from stall to stall!
Some markets, like the one at the Jardin des Tuileries, also feature amusement rides, skating rinks and live entertainment.
Check out INSPIRELLE’s Ultimate Guide to Christmas 2021 in Paris for our top picks of festive markets, shows and over 50 activities to enjoy throughout the holidays.
But while the days are full of spectacular sights to behold, Parisian nights are especially enchanting as glimmering lights illuminate the city streets against the dark evening sky.
We hope you enjoyed this photographic journey around Paris with Krystal Kenney! Happy holidays!
