School holidays are creeping up fast — again. In France, which has more vacation days than most other countries (every six weeks!) parents are constantly searching for activities to keep their kids occupied. Fortunately, there are many day camps and workshops available in and around Paris, led in French. But what if your child is an English speaker, or you want to find a fun and engaging way to improve their English? The American School of Paris (ASP) located in Saint-Cloud, a western suburb of Paris, is a great place for families to find innovative activities that fit the bill.

From sports, coding, and science to fashion design, filmmaking and theatre, to intensive preparation for the English BAC exam or the SAT American college entrance exam, there’s bound to be a camp or workshop right for your child. See the school’s diverse program below and sign up soon!

For 24 years ASP has been opening its world-class facilities, through its Extension Program, to external students aged 4 to 18 during vacances scolaires plus Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the school year. With top-notch educators, newly-renovated and light-filled classrooms, state-of-the-art technology resources, spacious playing fields, two indoor gyms, theater spaces, and a full-service cafeteria, ASP provides an exceptional environment where kids are inspired to learn.

“We offer rich programming with fun activities and high-quality instruction on a beautiful, modern and green campus… all of this contributes to the most important thing of all — kids who are laughing and having fun while they are learning!”

– John Kim, Director of ASP Extension Program

Kids will feel like they’re on holiday once they enter the school’s expansive green campus to be greeted by the smiling faces of children and faculty from around the world. Busy parents will appreciate the convenience of a trustworthy bus service serving many Parisian neighborhoods and a freshly-prepared hot lunch, which are both available for a fee.

Here’s an overview of the innovative programs that ASP offers:

Year-Round Activities in English

On Wednesdays and Saturdays during the school year, ASP offers intensive English language immersion courses and a variety of extracurricular activities both for its own students and external students. Registration opens in May for programs which run from September to June the following academic year. But you can check the website or contact the Extension Program office in case there may still be openings.

English Immersion Programs

Younger children aged 4 to 11 (grande sectionCM2) develop their English skills through music, art, dance and theatre. What better way to explore language than within the context of history, poems, songs, role-playing and drawing?

Older kids (3ème – terminale) looking to improve their oral and written English or prepare for the English BAC can attend intensive 90-minute Wednesday afternoon classes.

For kids aged 11/12 and up (6ème-terminale), Saturday morning immersion classes include two hours of classroom instruction plus a one-hour workshop (debate, theater, art, filmmaking, etc…)
